Taylor Swift Inspired ‘Midnights’ Wedding Photoshoot
In case you haven’t noticed by just my website, I am a huge Taylor Swift fan! Have been for many years and my love for her and her music has only grown over time. I’m not sure why it took me so many years to decide to do a Taylor Swift styled wedding photoshoot, but when the idea came to me late one night while I was aimlessly scrolling my phone in bed, I was inspired!
It all began with one simple idea: a friendship bracelet seating chart. (Swifties, you know the reference.) At first, I thought I’d weave in nods to all of Taylor’s eras, but as I started designing, I realized Midnights deserved its own moment to shine.
I modeled the color palette after the album artwork and pulling some snippets from the music videos. It included deep, romantic blues, rich purples, and shimmering silvers.
When deciding on my model couple’s outfits, I had some really specific ideas in mind. I wanted it to feel lose and fun, so our groom wore a relaxed suit, nothing to formal or buttoned up. Our bride model’s first look was a white dress that had so many sparkles on it that it shimmered in the right light! Later, we switched her into a playful, short white dress adorned with a “Karma” closing number tinsel jacket I handmade just for this shoot (and yes, I got to re-wear this jacket when I saw Taylor in London a few months later…so the hot glue gun hours and burns were worth it)!
And of course, we had the seating chart that started it all, a friendship bracelet board with individual names and table numbers (if you look close to the board, you will see some fun references). We also had the Midnights vinyl record to be signed as the guestbook, themed specialty cocktails, stunning wedding cake, and our calligrapher included a hand painted jacket to wear. And we couldn’t go with out fun blue heart sunglasses for the party shots!
My main goal with styled wedding shoots is to not only get my creative brain working, but also to show couples that truly anything is possible! So whether you want a Taylor Swift inspired wedding theme, a more classical wedding or just add in some fun touches of things you love, just do it! It’s your wedding day and it should feel memorable to you!
